Safe storage

Your properties, your name, your own storage space: Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland will fully allocate your unique properties. This means that everything you store with us must be a physical product and 100% your property. All your items will be stored in a separate safe deposit box in one of our vaults and can be claimed only by you.

Storing your gold, silver or platinum at Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland, we follow the principles of transparency and 100% allocation: all stored precious metals are stored separately in a unique numbered seal bag. Your safe deposit box is linked to a single client account and has its own insurance policy. Any mutations (deposits and withdrawals) require your explicit client approval. There can therefore be no question of a shared ownership of the physical product that has been stored: you must be able to collect the physical product in its entirety. For example, Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland is not able to store your property, if you are one of multiple owners of one gold bar on paper (as often is the case with purchases via a bullion bank).

Moreover, the stored precious metals can in no sense be regarded as assets of Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland. They are not on our balance sheet and are managed by a foundation appointed for this purpose. In the event of bankruptcy of Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland, your storage contract and associated administration will assure you that your stored properties are free from seizing or confiscation in the context of this bankruptcy.

Risk coverage is our profession. In the event of a calamity, your precious metals are fully insured at Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland: a security that can seldom be provided with storage elsewhere, e.g. your home address or bank.

The storage locations of Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland offer the highest possible degree of security to protect your properties. Additionally, all your gold, silver and platinum stored at Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland are fully insured against replacement value for optimal security of your assets. This means that in the event of loss of your property caused by for example theft, fire, war, terrorism or a natural disaster, you will be reimbursed the current day value of the precious metals in question, VAT-free.

With your advance payments of your quarterly custody fees you already secure insurance. If so desired, you can of course always take out additional insurance yourself.

Everything we do is in compliance with the applicable legal rules, requirements and duty of care: Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland is licenced by Dutch regulator AFM to provide insured storage of your precious metals. Regular inspection by an independent accountant also ensures that all your deposits and withdrawals are processed correctly.

You can depend on Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland to carry out all activities in the context of insured storage in compliance with the strict requirements of the AFM. This government body ensures that their high standards and duty of care towards clients are demonstrably met by its licence holders.

In addition, an independent accountant supervises the correct administration of the stored gold, silver and/or platinum with Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland. This includes periodical verification that the precious metals registered with Edelmetaal Beheer Nederland not only exist on paper but are indeed physically and individually allocated in our vaults. We provide all clients with a specified storage invoice every quarter, including a mutation overview of their stored precious metals.
